BridgingApps just published the following BridgingApps Reviewed App on the site:
Wait4it is a useful app that can help learners to master the concept of waiting. It is based on the PECS (Picture Exchange System) that was developed in 1985 for use as an augmentative or alternative communication intervention for individuals with (ASD) autism spectrum disorder.
This visual app uses a bright oval “wait†card along with a digital sand timer. There is also a clock for visualization of the actual waiting time as well as auditory feedback (bing sound) when the wait is over. The digital sand timer is filled with red sand, which turns green as it moves to the bottom of the timer. The facilitator can use pre-loaded pictures from the PECS images or import customized images from a personal photo library.
