Accessibility Statement for BridgingApps.org
We want everyone who visits the BridgingApps website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding, going above and beyond the recommendations stated in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act 1998.
What did we do
To help us make the BridgingApps.org website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/) . These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, more compatible with assistive technology, and more user friendly for all.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We aim for AA as the target for the BridgingApps website.
How did we do it
We’ve worked hard on the BridgingApps.org website and teamed up with Sigao Studios to help us achieve our goal of Level AA accessibility. In addition to selecting the accessibility ready WordPress theme Cindy, our team conducts testing on a Windows or Mac computer using NVDA or Voiceover, as appropriate. Software, such as WAVE and Siteimprove is used to scan and fix accessibility issues. We monitor the website regularly to maintain our ongoing commitment to delivering a site that is accessible to the largest possible audience.
