Toontastic is a fun and interactive storytelling app that encourages creativity through imaginative play. Great for learners age 7 and up, Toontastic promotes language, story creation, expressive language, social skills and even writing.
We have used Toontastic with typically developing children and children and teens with diagnoses ranging from developmental delay to autism with great success. All kids LOVE Toontastic! They could not get enough play time on the app. Learners seemed to really enjoy the self-paced play and creative outlet. Because the program can record voice, it encourages independence in creating stories to share and is very reinforcing to self esteem.
Teachers can use the app as groundwork for writing lessons by having students create stories within Toontastic and then write about them. The app teaches the fundamentals of storytelling like characters, setting, story, etc. BridgingApps highly recommends Toontastic!
