Social Skills Sampler HD is part of the Functional Skills System software. This app provides information for students about common social situations with a video and narration. After the video each step is reviewed one by one.
The topics addressed in Social Skills Sampler HD include meeting and greeting people, taking responsibility, being polite and courteous, joining others in group, apologizing and excusing self, following directions and handling criticism.
We used this in groups for training appropriate social skills to middle school and high school students on the autism spectrum. These students watched the videos, talked about the steps and then role played the information that was learned. This is an excellent resource for teaching students how to interact with others, especially in community settings.
