BridgingApps just published the following BridgingApps Reviewed App on the site:
In the Fridge is a free app that helps children learn how to categorize items they can find in the fridge. The app begins with a story about a goblin that comes into a house and takes things into the fridge that should not be eaten. The child is shown pictures of foods in categories that have one object hidden in them. If the child picks the object that does not belong, they are verbally rewarded. If the child does not, the object they touch responds but not positively. Some of the positive responses are a pun or a play on the name of the object touched.
The app was used with preschool children with developmental delays and is highly recommended for young children for vocabulary development and early learning to categorize. It is a short app so it is good for reinforcement of skills or as a reward after a learning activity.
