BridgingApps just published the following BridgingApps Reviewed App on the site:
Florence is an interactive social story app that tackles the subject of relationships, heartache and growth from the perspective of a young woman named Florence. There is zero audible dialogue, yet the story is so engaging by the artistry with it’s incredible music, fluid graphics, and interactive design. The user is drawn into Florence’s world and becomes Florence herself not just by completing certain screen tasks, but by how the screen itself is touched. As the story unfolds, the user witnesses the joys, frustrations and sadness before, during and after a first love. And as Florence deals with the the emotional ramifications of an ended relationship the user champions her coping and growth.
BridgingApps sees the value of this app for parents, teachers and therapists of older teens and young adults with special needs. As part of a social skills program for those transitioning into adulthood and independence it can be an excellent way to approach the conversation and dialogue related to the ups and downs of relationships and healthy ways to cope with the emotions that come with disappointment and loss.
