Khan Academy- you can learn anything App

BridgingApps Featured Summer App ☀️ Khan Academy

Khan Academy is a great app to use over the summer! ☀️ The recently updated iPad version of Khan Academy offers offer 150,000 exercises with instant feedback. Great for typically developing students as well as those with learning disabilities, Khan Academy allows students to learn almost anything free. Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization funded by donors. So, there are no in-app purchases or need to upgrade.

Khan Academy provides students the opportunity to learn at their own pace. BridgingApps reviewers love this personalized learning approach. Students are able watch and re-watch video tutorials if needed. They can easily stop a video and play it back. And then, after watching an instructional video, students can work through practice lessons on the concept. In addition to using Khan Academy with general education students, BridgingApps has used it with students diagnosed with ADD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia. Special education teachers are using Khan Missions for IEP goals.

For learners who often become disengaged while learning, use rewards or verbal praise to encourage a positive learning attitude and strong work ethic. Parents and teachers can also leverage the Khan Academy Coach Reports to set appropriate goals and celebrate small successes.

Not all students learn the same way and at the same pace, yet it is crucial for all students to master concepts before they can apply those skills and move on to more challenging subjects. Khan Academy is a terrific innovative resource for students, parents and teachers to supplement or advance instruction so all students are engaged at an appropriate pace and gain mastery in any subject.

With the new Khan Academy iPad app, users can:

Sharpen skills: interactive, curriculum aligned math exercises are included with instant feedback and step-by-step hints. Users can follow along with what they are learning in school or practice at their own pace.

Flex muscles: the app adjusts to give users interactive exercise recommendations that are tailored just for them through the world of math.

Show work: the app harnesses the power of writing down thoughts as users problem-solve with a beautiful, expansive scratchpad. Once the users have the answer, they write it in, and Khan recognizes personalized handwriting (powered by MyScript).

Track learning: learning auto-magically syncs between the users iPad and khanacademy.org, so progress and recommendations are always up-to-date, anywhere, anytime.

On both the iPad and iPhone Khan Academy apps, users can:

Watch all of 5,000+ videos.

Read articles on topics from Art History to Coach and Classroom Resources.

Download videos to watch offline at the users own pace.

Learn using videos, interactive exercises, and in-depth articles in math (arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, calculus, linear algebra), science (biology, chemistry, physics), economics, and even the humanities with playlists on art history, civics, finance, and more.

Spend an afternoon brushing up on statistics. Discover how the Krebs cycle works. Learn about the fundamentals of music notation. Prepare for an upcoming ACT, SAT, GMAT, or MCAT. Or, if you are feeling particularly adventurous, learn how fire stick farming changed the landscape of Australia.

It does not matter if you are a student, teacher, homeschooler, principal or an adult returning to the classroom after 20 years, Khan Academy’s materials and resources are available completely free of charge.
