Join our mission to help children and adults with disabilities use mobile devices to communicate, exceed educational goals, and reach their fullest potential by participating in the 2019 Easter Seals Greater Houston Walk With Me 5K event.
Walk With Me is a fun, 5K event for the entire family, held at the Houston Zoo that raises money for Easter Seals Greater Houston and its programs!
Your support of the BridgingApps team will help provide access to mobile devices (such as iPads and Androids), as well as provide the education and resources needed to train parents, therapists, and teachers on how to effectively use technology and apps to target and improve skills.
Here are a few ways you can help us meet our goal:
- Join our Walk With Me BridgingApps Team to help us raise money!
- Participants only need to raise $50!
- You will receive a ticket to the Houston Zoo, an event t-shirt, and access to the after party!
- Kids under 12 walk free.
- Make a donation to our BridgingApps Walk With Me Team.
- On behalf of BridgingApps and the clients and families we serve, thank you! Your generosity makes it all possible.

Why am I walking? I am participating in Easter Seals’ Walk With Me because I want to spread hope and raise funds to help individuals and families living with all types of disabilities.
For 70 years Easter Seals Greater Houston has helped veterans adjust to civilian life with service dogs and mental health services, taught infants with developmental delays how to walk and talk, given children with cerebral palsy a sense of community through camps and play groups, mentored teens with autism so they can feel prepared and empowered to enter the workforce, and so much more! Easter Seals is an essential partner in providing help, hope and answers to our loved ones with disabilities. Please join me on this journey so Easter Seals can continue providing life-changing services to the 11,000+ children and adults served each year in the Greater Houston community.
In the past year, BridgingApps has given more than 90 presentations and trainings in Houston and around the country. We contribute to a monthly assistive technology podcast, provide an online course, a regular column in a digital magazine, 3K apps in our database and 25K users access our content each month.
The BridgingApps App Search Tool allows users to access app reviews conducted by therapists and special education teachers and focuses on skill, rather than age or diagnosis.
We are excited to explore new ways in which mobile technology can assist young adults with special health care needs, older adults, and seniors through collaborative projects with Texas Children’s Hospital, TIRR Memorial Hermann, UnitedHealthcare, Texas Department of State Health Services, and others.
Currently the BridgingApps program has more than 50 devices loaned out to children and adults with disabilities in the Houston area that help with communication, educational skills and rehabilitation from injury and illness. Your support of this event helps purchase additional devices to assist those who need access to technology that changes lives.
