Black and white photo of a modern lobby area with the RightHear logo in the center. There are people walking and sitting on chairs. Text bubbles point out various locations: one bubble points to the 'Main Entrance,' another bubble directs to 'Continue 120 feet to your room,' and a third bubble asks 'When is the next shuttle to the airport?' indicating a seated person using a device.

BridgingApps Reviewed App | RightHear – Blind Assistant

BridgingApps just published the following BridgingApps Reviewed App on the site:

RightHear is a free navigation tool for users with visual impairments. It helps users easily orient themselves in all environments by providing information about their environment when outdoors and indoors (where Bluetooth beacons are installed).

The app has a very simple interface. After downloading it, users just have to open it to hear their current location. If they are not in a RightHear enabled location (i.e. no surrounding buildings have a Bluetooth beacon installed) then the app will start naming what is near them.

RightHear was trialed by a BridgingApps staff member and her blind client in the EasterSeals building. The client liked that the app was easy to use and did not require much instruction, however, there is a great app tutorial video that can be found within the settings!
