Main Idea -Sentences: Reading Comprehension Skills focuses on building reading comprehension by concentrating on important information in a text. The app is designed for students in grades 2-5, but can be used with younger readers as well. Main Idea provides a user friendly context to identify the main idea of a small paragraph. Main idea pulls key information from the text and prompts the user to select “yes†or “no†based on the importance of phrase/subject. For example, if the text is about the planet Mars the user must select the appropriate answer based on the important information about Mars. The app aims to support reading comprehension skills through the dissemination of information in small chunks.
