The Functional Communication System Lite is a customizable communication tool that uses speech, real pictures and video to present words and phrases for communication. The unique feature of this system is that attached to each button or word is a video that shows a situation for use and describes what each word means. When the user touches and holds the icon, a screen appears where the user can listen to the word, look at a larger picture or watch a video that tells what the word or action means. The app is completely customizable so that using the camera and microphone embedded in the iPad, a custom user interface can be created.
