Teacher Tech Tips: More About Social Stories

In Social Stories, we chatted about social stories and their usefulness for all kinds of classrooms and all kinds of students. Since the beginning of COVID-19, when schools started transitioning to virtual instruction, we have been busy researching ways to help teachers and families. We decided to show you an easy way to make your own social stories using a program that you likely already own, Microsoft Word. By creating a social story using a widely used program like Word, you can easily share with parents or other professionals interacting with the individual so that they can edit as necessary, or you can easily save as a PDF from Word if they do not need to edit the content.

In the video below we create a social story about wearing a mask due to COVID-19 regulations using some super cute COVID-19 themed clip art. Check out the video and then feel free to download and use our examples (found on the links below the video) or create your own.
