The Fort Worth BridgingApps group met on April 8th to discuss and share favorite apps that support communication. Since it is Autism Awareness month, we focused on apps that would work well for individuals who have autism. Mary Marion, a speech pathologist for Grapevine ISD, demonstrated a variety of communication-related apps and provided tips for using them. The participants, who included speech pathologists, special education teachers, and parents, discussed their needs and ideas for apps that would meet those needs. We used the Insignio search tool to locate apps for specific purposes that work on different type of devices.
