Setting Up the iPad for the First Time

Setting Up the iPad for the First Time

Setting up the iPad for the first time will take between 1-2 hour depending on your comfort level, if you have Apple ID (Apple iTunes account ID), your internet connection speed and how many other things you are trying to do at the same time. Our advice is to plan on 2 hours and keep it as interruption free as possible.

These instructions cover the following topics (the times given are just a guideline to help you plan):

  1. Unboxing the iPad (5 Minutes)
  2. iPad Introduction (10 Minutes)
  3. Installing a screen protector (20 Minutes)
  4. Registering the iPad with Apple (15 Minutes)
  5. Setting up Wi-Fi on the iPad (5 Minutes)
  6. Ordering your first application directly on the iPad (20 Minutes)

What you will need to complete this task:

  1. an iPad and sync cable
  2. computer with the latest version of Apple iTunes installed
  3. screen protector (optional but highly recommended)
  4. clean workspace
  5. beverage of your choice

Step 3: Installing a Screen Protector (20 Minutes)

This is optional but highly recommended. What the video and do a practice run before you install the protector for the first time. Take it slow.
