Setting Up the Android for the First Time

Setting up an Android for the First Time

Setting up an Android for the first time will take between 1-2 hours depending on your comfort level, if you have Google Account (google email address), your internet connection speed and how many other things you are trying to do at the same time. Our advice is to plan on 2 hours and keep it as interruption free as possible.

These instructions cover the following topics (the times given are just a guideline to help you plan):

  1. Unboxing the Android Tablet (5 Minutes)
  2. Installing a screen protector (20 Minutes)
  3. First Time Setup including registering the tablet with Google (15 Minutes)
  4. Ordering your first application directly on the tablet (10 Minutes)

What you will need to complete this task:

  1. an Android Tablet
  2. wi-fi internet connect
  3. google email address
  4. screen protector (optional but highly recommended)
  5. clean workspace
  6. beverage of your choice

Note: In this series of videos we use a Google Nexus 10 tablet running Android version 4.2.2. If you are using a different tablet or running a different version of the operating system, it may look a little different but the steps and the concepts will be the same.
