Cognitive Considerations in Using Mobile Devices
There is a progression of cognitive skills needed to use mobile devices successfully. This webinar will cover where to begin based on the childâ€™s skill level as well as the sequence needed in using mobile devices with children who have disabilities.
Using Mobile Devices with Children Who Have Multiple Disabilities
This webinar will help participants understand that even the most severely impaired population can benefit from using mobile technology. Finding apps to match goals and track student data will be discussed.
Mobile Devices as a Support for Students with Vision Challenges
Mobile devices running Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android software now include a screen reader and other accessibility features for individuals who have vision challenges. Using these built-in accessibility features, students with vision difficulties can enjoy the same level of access to educational content as their peers. Along with an overview of the built-in accessibility features on mobile devices, this session will also focus on innovative apps that address the specific needs of students who have visual impairments.
Creating Lesson Plans using Mobile Devices
This course will demonstrate ideas for using apps to create differentiated lesson plans. English Language Arts, Math, and digital stories will be covered as well as addressing IEP goals.
Creating Your Own Content for Children with Disabilities – Basics
This course will cover the basics of creating your own content, including media, and managing that content on and off your iPad. Learn tips and tricks for organizing what you need when you need it.
The purpose of these webinars is to ensure that special education teachers, therapists, parents, and classroom teachers are prepared to effectively implement the use of mobile devices such as iPads and resources with children and adults who have disabilities.
